B.Sc. Agriculture

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture is an undergraduate Agriculture Science and Technology course. Agriculture is the classifications name for the farming industry. It refers to the production of goods through the growing of plants and fungi and the raising of domesticated animals.

The study of agriculture is known as agricultural science. The related practice of gardening is studied in horticulture. The duration of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture is four years. The course offered by different departments (theoretical and practical) is taught to the students on credit basis. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture also includes on farm (Rural Agriculture Work Experience) training and hands on experimental developing confidence in the graduating students of Agriculture.

B.Sc. Agriculture Eligibility
  • The minimum qualification required to apply for B.Sc. in agriculture is 50-60% (depends on institute to institute) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Admission criterion is an entrance test conducted by various institutes which differs from place to place.

Minimum Age on 31.08.2018 (14 Years)

Part I: General Aptitude in Agriculture:
Knowledge of candidates in vernacular language about the land measurements, cultivation of various rabi and kharif field crops, fruits and vegetables crops, Classifications of crops, manures and fertilizers, farm hand tools, implements and farm machinery, weeds, irrigation, seeds, rural institutes and programmes, Live Stock Production and Management, general agriculture and allied activities. It will be of 60 marks.
Part II: General Science:
The syllabus will be as per Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani of 10th standard. Chemical Reactions and Equations, Acids, Bases and salts, Metals and non-Metals, Carbon and its Compounds, Periodic Classification of elements, Life Processes, Control and Coordination, How do Organisms Reproduce, Heredity and Evolution, Light – Reflection and Refraction, Human Eye and Colourful World, Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Electric Current, Source of Energy, Our Environment, Management of Natural Resources. It will be of 40 marks.
